Mango Mastani
In the Signature Style of Chef Shah Meer
1. Definition
Mango Mastani is a rich, creamy mango dessert drink made with fresh mango pulp, chilled milk, ice cream, and topped with dry fruits and extra scoops of ice cream. It is thicker than a regular mango shake and served as both a beverage and a dessert.
It is defined by:
Thick, creamy texture
Intense fresh mango flavor
Layered ice cream topping
Festive dry fruit garnish
Served chilled in a tall glass
In the philosophy of Chef Shah Meer, a perfect Mango Mastani must be naturally sweet, smooth, and luxurious — with real mango flavor as the star ingredient, not artificial essence.
—
2. History
Mango Mastani originated in Pune, India, and became especially popular at the famous dessert house Sujata Mastani, where it was first introduced as a royal-style mango drink topped with ice cream and nuts.
The name “Mastani” is inspired by Mastani, known for her beauty and grace. Just like its namesake, this drink is rich, elegant, and indulgent.
Over time, Mango Mastani gained popularity across South Asia and is now a beloved summer dessert, especially during mango season.

Chef Shah Meer’s Tips
For extra richness, substitute milk with fresh cream.
Adjust sugar according to the sweetness of mangoes.
For a layered presentation, add small mango cubes between layers.
Serve in chilled glasses for restaurant-style presentation.

Storage Guidelines
Mango Mastani is best served fresh.
Do not refrigerate after preparation, as texture may thin out.
If needed, store the mango puree separately in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and blend fresh before serving.
—
Mango Mastani is not just a drink — it is a royal summer dessert experience, bringing together the sweetness of mangoes and the luxury of ice cream in every spoonful.
